Half way through the unexpected journey with Bilbo Baggins~

I wanted to watch The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, so last Sunday, En. Ali & I went to Alamanda to catch the 3D version of the said movie.

I was so excited! I think the last 3D we watched was Disney's Brave which was months ago!

(Actually, I'm always excited at going to malls and movies. My 2 favorite M's :) )

Anyway, back to the topic...we reached there quite early and got the ticket nearly on the front row seat because we did not book in advance like we use to when we were going out on dates!

Luckily we have enough time after the queue to buy popcorn and drinks to accompany us throughout what was supposed to be a 2 hours and 46 minutes movie (minus the ad).

When we first enter Cinema 1, everything was quiet for the first 10 minutes and just as the crowd getting restless, the advertisement came on the screen. *phew*

During the advertisement  Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters Trailer came up...I was saying to En. Ali that this is a much watch movie next year because it looks exciting. Jeremy Renner must have a busy schedule (and extremely rich), He's been in a lot of major movies since 2011!

Half way through the excitement where Hansel was shouting for Gretel - the screen went blank...we was like WHAT?!  At the peak of the trailer?!!...

Everyone was muttering while some shouted for the technician to fix it up quickly.

A few minutes later..the screen appeared again and the trailer was replayed, so everyone calmed down into their seats again.

Then our date with Bilbo Baggins begins!

The journey started with the Frodo's uncle - Bilbo opening up a book to write down his actual journey and how he came to found the ring which was so much to do in the LOTR series. (I must say that the picture taken for this movie is so much better that LOTR. How much technology has advance since then eh?)

Bilbo opens the story of how the Dwarven Kingdom in the Lonely Mountains which had so much gold in it, that it was taken over by a vicious dragon called Smaug. It was told here that dragons loved gold and precious stones hmm...

The dwarves was forced to flee everywhere else in the Middle Earth.

The story goes back in time when young Bilbo was a Hobbit who have a beautiful house in the Shire.

On one fine day as he was sitting in front of his house porch, smoking pipe, he was greeted by Gandalf the Grey.

After an awkward exchange of greetings (where wishing someone Good Morning was not yet a familiar term at the time so it seems), Gandalf told him that he has chosen Bilbo who was a descendant of Took (a remarkable hobbit who helped won a war in Middle Earth) to share on an adventure with him.

Bilbo was very much reluctant to leave his comfortable home, but Gandalf kept reminding him that having an adventure of his own will mean so much more then experiencing it through a book!( Which is true - the more adventure you have, the more experience you gain, the more useful stories you can leave behind for your grandchildren to cherish. Although reading also helps.)

That same night, while Bilbo was getting ready to eat his scrumptious looking dinner of fish and chips, someone knocked on his door. When he opened it, came one dwarf...and then one after another until there are 14 of them, joined by Gandalf later.

Surprised at his own house party, Bilbo was then introduced to all the dwarfs including Thorin Oakenshield- the prince of Dwarves and was then briefed on their plan of reclaiming the Lonely Mountains from Smaug.

Bilbo was chosen (as mentioned by Gandalf) to be the thief of the group because of his hobbit nature which can move quickly and quietly and his scent is not yet familiar to Smaug. He was given a contract to sign that night, but he refuses it and went straight up stairs to bed, leaving the party behind.

The dwarves gathered in front of Bilbo's fireplace then sang the song of the Lonely Mountains... a beautiful song that captures Bilbo's heart (and many other I'm sure)

The next morning, Bilbo found that he is alone again in his house and that everything is fully restored in its place (except for his pantry's supplies) apart from the chaos caused by the dwarves last night. He then found the contract laying on a chair in his leaving room which made him pack his things and run after the group that have already left. True enough that the hobbit can move fast as he was able to catch up with them on foot not long after.

That was the start of his journey...

It was an exciting adventure up until Golum a.k.a Smeagol came into the picture, when Bilbo was just about to play a trick on Golum and I was at the edge of my seat waiting for it...the screen again became blank :'(

Nearly everyone shout out of frustration! After a few minutes gone and there was no sign that the movie will be playing back on...En. Ali & me went out of the cinema where we were joined by a crowd of disappointed people like us wanting to return the ticket and have our money back.

After being sent here and there, we managed got our money back...but my adventure with Bilbo was postponed huu....

It was sooooooooooooo frustrating!

Overall the story was filled with witty fun, mystery and adventure. Which is a lot more than what we have experience during LOTR 1.

Till next time Mr. Bilbo Baggins~

I can't wait to finish up the journey, but will not be going to Alamanda GSC anytime soon.

Getting started is always the hardest part~

Hey there~

It has been quite some time since I wanted to start this blog but I always got stuck when asked these questions (usually to myself and I):

1. What's the concept?
2. What will I write about?

and the hardest question of them all...

3. How do I want to start it?

Self sabotaging? Yes, I sometimes do that to myself. But I also believe that things happened for a reason and when the time is right, the answer will come flowing from your mind through your fingers. (Just need to remind myself to be careful not to bare the answers too openly without considering the sensitivity of others closes to me though.)

So, why do I start this blog?

I've always love writing the happenings in my life, but it's just that previously it is not done in this medium. Not publicly at least. We have been happily married for a year and so much has happened since and how I wished I have shared out it somewhere where I can look back at it and remind myself of the feelings I had when the incidents occurred. Since sharing and caring is part of our lives now, I even ask the love of my life to join in the blog as well.

Who are we?

Well, together we are Siti and Ali (which you might discover later that it is not our real name!). We're two happily newlyweds (new-even after a year), who have just walked into a new phase of our lives and would like to have a space to record some of the happenings in it here for future references.

Finally...after months of procrastination the blog finally have its first post. To think that with that much time I might have come up with something vavavoom, right? But no..both Ali and me are very simple people.

Hopefully istiqamah will kick in soon and this space will not be left with only 1 post for long ;)
